Walking the Tight Tropes...
A considerable amount of time passed since I gave myself space to create new personal work. After the unexpected acclaim surrounding my project As I Found Her, I found it tremendously difficult to make work that carried the same weight or importance. So I retreated for some time.
Going to America to visit friends and to travel a little this summer, most of it solo, was the first opportunity in many years that I'd allowed space around myself both physically and mentally. I had no plan and until I stepped foot off the plane that had worried me, but something magical happened this summer in America, I found my flow, the space I’d created allowed me to be present in a way I don’t think I ever have been before with a camera in my hand. I was able to see in new ways, and reconnect with the creative, something I’d so dearly missed.
