Ellie Golding, Kendrick Lamar,and Calvin Harris on a desert island - 2016

Probably one of the coolest, and most bizarre gigs I was ever commissioned to shoot. The gig was on a small private island owned by a hotel on a neighboring island. Bacardi put on the whole show, featuring the aforementioned acts, and a lot of free booze. I had great access for Ellie and I think my colleague Andrew Whitton, shot Kendrick, but I guess one of the deepest frustrations is when contractually, the promoter fails to secure photo access to the headliner, so despite the whole thing costing millions to produce, from what I remember Calvin Harris wouldn’t allow any particular access, so instead of trying to shoot his head peering over a 12-foot stage, I climbed the nearest mountain and shot the wide of the spectacular location.
